Maui Levitation Engagement Session

I photographed this full-day adventurous engagement session on Maui, built around the visual language of a romance novel book cover, dramatic, bold, and a little unreal. We leaned fully into that concept, rigging the couple with ropes for controlled levitation portraits, creating the illusion of weightlessness against jungle backdrops and coastal cliffs. The day unfolded as a sequence of scenes rather than locations, with each environment adding a new chapter to the story.

Between setups, the session turned physical and playful. We cliff jumped into clear water, swam beneath a waterfall, and climbed massive banyan trees with roots twisting like sculpture. The imagery balances fantasy with effort, blending cinematic romance and raw adventure in equal measure. This Maui engagement session captures not just what the place looks like, but what it feels like to move through it with intention, trust, and a willingness to push beyond the expected.
